FREQUENT QUESTIONS

WHAT IS SOLAR PV(PHOTOVOLTAIC)?

Solar PV is a power system that converts light into electricity. In our case, we utilize solar panels to capture the light from the sun to produce electricity for your use.

WHY GO SOLAR?

The sun is a renewable resource and solar panels allow us to capture that resource and use it in the form of electricity to reduce your current electrical bill and reduce your environmental footprint. Whether your goal is a financial benefit or an environmental one solar is a great option.

HOW DOES A GRID-TIED SOLAR PV SYSTEM WORK FOR ME?

A grid-tied solar PV system allows your home, farm, or business to tie safely and seamlessly into the current utility grid selling excess solar electricity back to the grid during the day when you are creating more solar electricity than you need and buying back from the grid as you do now at night.

CAN I INSTALL A GRID-TIED ARRAY THAT PRODUCES MORE THAN MY ANNUAL ELECTRICAL USAGE?

The Alberta Micro-generation Act allows you to install a solar array that produces up to 100% of your annual usage. With longer summer hours you will produce more in the summer months and less during the winter. Any excess energy sent back to the grid will be credited to your electrical bill a microgeneration credit.
